David was truly loved by his colleagues, students and the people who were lucky to have interacted with him/been part of his life. We will always remember him as the kind, friendly and generous man who would delight the 'audience' with his wit and charisma. He led by example, always a strong personality, relentlessly encouraging and being a source of motivation. I fondly remember his sense of humour and charming 'vanity' when stroking his fringe, which he repeated over and over again when he was happy.
